Bandung

Bandung, known as the "City of Flowers" is the provincial capital of West Java and is Indonesia's third largest city.

Located 190 kilometres South East of Jakarta, there are 2 ways to get to Bandung - drive or catch the train from Jakarta, both take approximately 2-3 hours, and each are an adventure in itself.

Surrounded by lush green rice paddies and volcanic hills means that Bandung's climate is cool, which makes it the perfect weekend getaway for Jakartans and others from around Java. Be sure to make a few stops enroute to take in the panoramic views! The first recommended stop is the sleepy village of Puncak - meaning top of the hill. Here you can experience amazing views overlooking the valleys below.

Visit the Gunung Mas tea plantation, grab a bargain at the local markets or stay for lunch and taste the famous local dish - Nasi Tim.

For tourists Bandung is known for the cultural Sudanese Arts, crafts and traditional performances.

Bandung is also home to a selection of factory outlets where designer brands are available for a fraction of normal retail prices.

Take a shopping tour to the many Factory Outlets for well priced suits, shoes & clothing.
